Cherish Burtson

Cherish is a San Diego native and has a degree in psychology from UCSC and started her career as a mental health counselor for dual diagnosis youth. After struggling with her own addiction and getting sober her passion for counseling became geared towards people who were struggling in similar ways that she had. As a counselor her approach is non-judgmental, compassionate, and open minded with a goal towards establishing self-worth, increasing self-compassion, and mindfulness. She is currently finishing up her AODS studies at San Diego Community College with plans to receive her master’s in social work. She lives a fulfilling, content life in recovery and is passionate about mutual aid, live music, working out/hiking, and nurturing relationships with her friends and family.
